The Blue Electric E5 PLUS is positioned as a plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV. In terms of exterior design, the new model largely retains the styling of the current production version. However, its CLTC pure electric range will be extended to 230 kilometres, it will feature an FSD adaptive suspension system, and a full-time four-wheel drive variant will be added to the range.
Riding the wind, redefining aesthetic standards
The new model’s exterior design remains largely consistent with the current production version, retaining the closed-off front fascia and featuring a full-width rear light cluster. However, it introduces a new wheel design with a mirror-finish, large-diameter style, lending the vehicle a heightened sense of luxury in its visual presentation.
The fusion of technology and art
The new vehicle is expected to feature a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a column-mounted gear selector, complemented by a separately positioned digital instrument cluster and multimedia display. The passenger side dashboard incorporates a wireless mobile phone charging pad, with a recessed storage compartment and charging port situated below.
The perfect balance of power and range
Powertrain-wise, the new Blue Electric E5 PLUS is expected to retain the current model’s 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid system, featuring a 1.5-litre engine delivering a maximum power output of 70 kilowatts. Depending on the configuration, the front-mounted single electric motor offers either 130 kilowatts or 160 kilowatts of maximum power. The transmission system pairs with an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission, and an all-wheel-drive variant will be introduced. In terms of range, the new Blue Electric E5 PLUS will see its CLTC-rated pure electric range increased to 230 kilometres.
