New Car | Starting from $19,627 USD / Featuring all-new semi-concealed door handles, the 2026 BYD Song L DM-i launches
As an annual facelift model, the 2026 Song L DM-i features semi-concealed door handles instead of the previous hidden design, alongside an interior shift-by-wire gear selector. Additionally, the new model now includes Heavenly Eye C driver assistance, Yun Nian-C intelligent damping body control, and TBC high-speed tyre blowout stability control as standard across all trims. The maximum pure electric range under CLTC conditions has been extended to 200 kilometres.
Stunning appearance
At the annual model refresh stage, the 2026 Song L DM-i exhibits minimal exterior alterations compared to its 2025 predecessor. However, addressing a key consumer focus, the door handles transition from a fully concealed pop-up design to a semi-concealed configuration. Two new body colours—Official Kiln Grey and Milky Way Beige—have been introduced.
Luxury specification
The 2026 Song L DM-i introduces new features in its top-tier variant, including an intelligent climate-controlled refrigerator and front seat massage functions. Concurrently, the DiPilot 100 advanced driver assistance system, Cloud Chariot-C intelligent damping body control system, and TBC high-speed tyre blowout stability control system are now standard across the entire range.
Luxury interior
The 2026 Song L DM-i‘s interior primarily features adjustments to the passenger side dashboard area. The new model dispenses with the conventional gear lever design, adopting a column-mounted gear selector instead. The former gear lever area has been streamlined into a single row of physical multifunctional control buttons, while retaining amenities such as a wireless phone charging pad and horizontally arranged dual cup holders.
Extreme power
The 2026 Song L DM-i continues to feature a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid powertrain, comprising a 1.5-litre engine delivering a maximum power output of 74 kilowatts and an electric motor producing up to 160 kilowatts. It offers a choice between two battery pack capacities: 18.3 kilowatt-hours and 26.6 kilowatt-hours, corresponding to pure electric ranges of 130 kilometres and 200 kilometres respectively under the China Light and Electric Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) standard.
