On January 8, BYD officially unveiled its latest MPV, the Xia, priced between ¥249,800 and ¥309,800. As BYD’s first major release of the year, the Xia boasts several standout features:

• Advanced Driving Technology: Standard high-level intelligent driving with high-speed pilot support.
• Comfort and Convenience: Includes Yunnian-C intelligent damping, Yunnian pre-aiming system, a built-in refrigerator, color TV, and spacious seating with third-row magic seats stored under the trunk floor.
• Battery and Range: Equipped with 20.39/36.63 kWh batteries, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 100/180 km and a comprehensive range up to 1,060 km with full fuel and power. Fuel consumption is as low as 5.3L.

Currently, only the hybrid version of BYD Xia is available in four configurations:

1. 100km Leading Model – ¥249,800
   • Powertrain: 1.5T plug-in hybrid with a 20.39 kWh lithium iron phosphate blade battery.
   • Range: 100 km pure electric.
   • Safety: 8 airbags, including advanced side and knee airbags, forward collision warning, and active braking.

2. 100km Surpassing Model – ¥259,800
   • Upgrades: Enhanced comfort with ventilated, heated, and massage front seats, second-row amenities, and electrically foldable third row.

3. 180km Surpassing Model – ¥285,800
   • Enhancements: Extended pure electric range to 180 km, faster 73 kW charging, and 10 airbags.
   • Convenience: Improved sensor systems, rear seat memory, massage functions, and ambient lighting.
4. 180km Excellence Model – ¥309,800
   • Premium Features: Nappa leather seats, headrest speakers, seat memory, steering wheel heating, Dolby Atmos, co-pilot entertainment screen, and rear multimedia system.

Recommendation: The 100km Surpassing Model at ¥259,800 offers the best balance of features and value. It includes essential safety and comfort enhancements without the significant price jump of higher models. While the top-tier Excellence Model provides luxurious additions, they may not be necessary for everyday use. Similarly, the entry-level Leading Model lacks sufficient comfort features, making the Surpassing Model the optimal choice for most families.
