The new GWM Tank 500, as the annual revision model, has not carried out subversive innovations, but many detailed upgrades have accurately hit the user’s needs. The car refrigerator and large-size entertainment screen are equipped to meet the practical demands of consumers for in-vehicle living scenarios. The advancement of intelligent configuration brings users a more cutting-edge car experience. As a representative high-end off-road vehicle of Chinese brands, the new Tank 500 remains a competitive choice in the market segment by virtue of its keen capture of demand and solid product strength.

Stunning appearance

The overall silhouette of the car remains the same as the on-sale model, the front grille is redesigned, adopting the “lift folded mesh” inspired by ancient Chinese architecture, with chrome trim showing a stacked shape from narrow to wide, and the bottom trim extends all the way to the headlights. The head of the car is equipped with Lipo badges, using indium-plated technology, and the rear also integrated millimetre wave radar. In addition, the new GWM Tank 500 comes in a new colour of “Dunhuang Green”.

Luxury interior

The new GWM Tank 500 still comes with full LCD instruments and a large floating centre screen with Coffee OS 3 car system, and also continues to be trimmed with woodgrain veneers. The three-spoke steering wheel styling remains the same, but there is a switch to a pocket gear shifter, so the controls in the sub-dashboard area are changed to the same layout as the new Tank 300, and there are two 50-watt wireless charging panels for mobile phones available.

High-tech configuration

The new GWM Tank 500 will be equipped with Coffee Pilot Ultra, the third generation of Great Wall’s assisted driving system, with WoSai ATX LIDAR in the roof position and additional side-view cameras on the side, which is expected to support city NOA and high-speed NOA functions. In addition, the car is equipped with a far-infrared night vision system, which can mark pedestrians in warm colours and vehicles in cold colours to improve recognition.

Extreme power

The new GWM Tank 500 will only offer two plug-in hybrids, Hi4-T and Hi4-Z, with the same power parameters as the current model, and a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 185 kW. The Tank 500 Hi4-T is equipped with a single motor with a maximum power of 120 kW, matched with a 37.1 kWh battery pack, and a pure electric range of 110 kilometres under WLTC conditions; the Tank 500 Hi4-Z is equipped with dual motors with a combined power of 455 kW, matched with a 59.05 kWh battery pack, and a pure electric range of 201 kilometres under WLTC conditions.
