The VW came back to set the table! New VW Tharu XR Launched
As a facelift model, the 2026 VW Tharu XR mainly adds the 1.5-litre Sharper Edition model (a limited time bite price of RMB 97,900), and adjusts the configuration of some models, with a choice of two powertrains, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and the 1.5T engine.
Stunning appearance
The exterior styling of the 2026 VW Tharu XR shows no obvious signs of alteration, and continues to be offered in both chrome and black-packed styles, with the black-packed version boasting a cool black sports package that includes black exterior mirrors, black rims, and black body logos.
Luxury interior
The layout of the VW Tharu XR remains unchanged, with a three-spoke steering wheel and a floating centre console. In the configuration section, the 2026 Touyue New Reach adds the 1.5-litre Reach Edition, which is positioned as the top version of the 1.5-litre model. Compared to the 1.5-litre Reach Edition (the second top version of the 1.5-litre model), the main additions are a six-way power adjustment for the main driver’s seat, heated front seats, 17-inch cool black rims, sport one-piece leather seats, a microfibre leather steering wheel, a 10.3-inch full LCD instrumentation, and a fatigue monitor, power-folding exterior mirrors, automatic anti-glare interior mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, 15-watt wireless phone charging, and a 9.2-inch centre screen. Other configuration changes, the 2026 Touyue Xinrui 1.5T Sharp Edition model has a new 6-way power adjustment for the main driver’s seat.
Extreme power
The 2026 VW Tharu XR continues to offer two powertrains, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5T engine, with the former delivering a maximum power of 81 kW and a maximum torque of 141 Nm, and the drivetrain mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the latter delivering a maximum power of 118 kW and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, and the drivetrain mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
