FAW-Volkswagen is set to officially release the new Tanyue L on November 4. Based on the MQB Evo platform, the same as the SAIC Volkswagen Tiguan L PRO, this large, five-seater SUV has been extended for the domestic market. Once launched, it will be sold alongside the current Tanyue.

Key Features and Design Updates

Compared to the existing Tanyue, the Tanyue L features a more modern design with sharper body lines, a taller and more upright front, and a larger front grille. The car also incorporates front and rear LED light strips, giving it a youthful and sporty look.

Additionally, the R Line version includes design upgrades like a diamond-mesh grille and a “blackened” theme for the roof, mirrors, wheels, and rear logo, enhancing its sporty appeal.

Size and Dimensions

According to reports, the Tanyue L measures 4684 (4695)/1854 (1866)/1685 (1684) mm with a wheelbase of 2791 mm—60 mm longer than the current Tanyue, bringing it closer to a mid-size SUV.

Engine and Power

The Tanyue L will be powered by two engines: the EA211 1.5TSI and the EA888 2.0TSI, delivering 118kW and 162kW of power, respectively. Both engines are paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, a standard feature across Volkswagen’s sedans and SUVs.
